It is with great pride and pleasure that I have assumed my duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the State of Qatar as of 15 September 2026.

I shall spare no effort to duly fulfil this noble duty entrusted to me, with a view to preserving and further advancing the exceptional level attained by Türkiye–Qatar relations, built upon deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood, mutual trust and strategic solidarity.

Under the leadership of His Excellency our President and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, our close relations have evolved into a strong partnership encompassing numerous fields, including political dialogue, defence and security, trade and investment, energy, education, culture and tourism.

Beyond their bilateral relations, Türkiye and Qatar also act in close consultation and coordination on matters concerning our region and the international community. In the face of current challenges, contributing to the joint endeavours of Türkiye and Qatar to strengthen peace, stability and diplomacy with a sense of regional ownership, and enriching our existing cooperation with new opportunities, will be among the foremost priorities of my tenure.

The Qatar–Türkiye Combined Joint Force Command, stationed in Doha, stands as one of the most tangible testaments to our cooperation in the field of defence and security and to the mutual trust between our countries. Likewise, our economic and commercial relations constitute another significant dimension of this strong partnership. With a view to further increasing our bilateral trade volume, currently standing at 1.2 billion US dollars, and reaching the target of 5 billion US dollars, we will support intensified contacts between our business communities, the development of new areas of investment and the pursuit of mutual business opportunities. We will continue to stand by our Turkish companies, entrepreneurs and workers.

One of the most solid foundations of the friendship between our countries is the closeness and mutual goodwill that have developed between our societies over the years. We attach importance to carrying out joint activities in diverse fields ranging from education to culture and the arts, and from sports to tourism, to opening new avenues of cooperation, and to further strengthening our existing people-to-people ties. To this end, we will work together with our institutions and organisations operating in Qatar — foremost among them Turkish Airlines, the Türkiye Maarif Foundation, the Yunus Emre Institute and the Qatar Turkish School — as well as with our business community and all segments of our society, to represent our country in the best possible manner.

Our citizens residing in Qatar are among the most valuable elements of the Türkiye–Qatar friendship and of the strong bonds between our countries. Maintaining close communication with our citizens, responding to their needs and expectations in a timely manner, assisting in the resolution of any problems they may encounter, and providing them with high-quality consular services will continue to be among the core priorities of our Embassy.
